The purposes of the youth group Voces Verbi can be summarized in four points:

Spiritual and Apologetic Formation

Since no one loves what he does not know, it is essential that the young people of Voces Verbi have a deep knowledge of the Catholic faith, its sources, its foundations, its treasures.

We are convinced that “reason and faith are the two wings with which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of truth” (John Paul II, Fides et Ratio).

For this reason, together with an intellectual formation that allows us to give reasons for our faith (cf. 1 Peter 3:15), we want to base ourselves on a solid spirituality that helps us to live the Gospel with all its demands and challenges, convinced that only Christ has the words of eternal life (cf. John 6:68).

Evangelization of the Culture

Since “the good is in itself diffusive” and since “we cannot keep silent about what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:13-21), the young people of Voces Verbi want to commit themselves with all their strength so that the Gospel may illuminate and permeate all authentically human realities.

To this end, each member must sanctify his own life and mission by example and by word in the environments in which he lives according to his own vocation and obligations.

We are an apologetic and missionary group that “is not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes” (Rom 1:16) and because we know that, if we confess Christ before men, He will also acknowledge us before the angels of God (cf. Lk 12:8).

Catholic Friendships

In our times many young Catholics find themselves alone and as “strangers” in their own surroundings. This loneliness causes many to become weak in their faith and even to lose it.

Voces Verbi wants to create a Catholic environment of authentic friendship in which the joy of youth is shared, but also the ideals of the Gospel, the love of the Church, the love of purity, the rejection of the “spirit of the world”, the joy in the things of God, etc.

Discerning One´s Own Vocation

As St. Alberto Hurtado said, “the future of a man depends on two or three yes’s, two or three no’s, given by a young man between the ages of fifteen and twenty”.

Voces Verbi wants to offer a favorable environment so that its members can carry out an authentic discernment of their own Christian vocation, both to the consecrated life and to marriage and family life, convinced that only the perfect following of the divine will can give us that peace and joy that only God knows how to give.
